Bella Rose blooms...

Blooming with Love and Bella Rose paper are made for each other.

And so is Kiwi Kiss and wide Old Olive grosgrain. It's like peanut butter and jelly. Or Thelma and Louise (us).

This is our last post for a week while we visit Salt Lake City for Stampin' Up!'s 20th Anniversary/Convention! We're very excited!!!

Look for many more terrific samples when we return.

Feel free to leave comments, ask questions, and visit our websites. We will have loads of great new classes and other events coming up and would love to see you at one or all of them!

Pun Fun Tango cat...

Tangerine Tango is a perfect cat color, I think. And it goes well with Chocolate Chip and Kiwi Kiss card stocks as well.

The strip of Tangerine Tango behind the brown strip is pierced on both sides. And the layered (and watercolored) cat from Pun Fun has a wide chocolate grosgrain knot to add even more texture.

The bottom of the card is my favorite brown polka dots from the Bella Rose designer paper.

Pun Fun & new In Colors...

This little party bird from Pun Fun looks like it's ready for a great bird-day!

The love note is all new In Colors - Tangerine Tango with Baja Breeze 1/2" circles attached to it. The bird is layered on Pacific Breeze, and there's a strip of it near the bottom of the note, accented with a silver brad.

Bella Rose paper...

This paper is so versatile, as you can see by the varied samples here and below. These pretty Pink Pirouette flowers look very graceful next to the tiny polka dots.

I used the "create" stamp in the By Definition set and stamped and layered it in Chocolate Chip. The pink flower is cut out from the paper and stuck on with a dimensional after putting a rhinestone brad through the center.

The slit punch is on the back of the card, with a 1/8" hole punched in the center of it, holding the pink gingham ribbon. I tore the bottom front of the card so it fits and closes nicely in the slit.

Light unto my path...

The new Baja Breeze is a perfect sea color, I think, and goes well with this lighthouse stamp set.

I paired the new In Color with Not Quite Navy, and used a Not Quite Navy marker to color the white grosgrain ribbon since Stampin' Up! doesn't carry any ribbon in that color.

NEW: Window Dressing love note...

I love this cute little cat and the sentiment with it - and I'm a dog person! *LOL*

These two stamps are from the upcoming hostess set called Window Dressing. I've watercolored the cat, added a strip of Bella Rose polka dots and some black gingham.

NEW: Wow Flowers & scallops...

Louise got crazy with punches for this Wow Flowers card.

She used the 1 1/4" circle, 1 3/8" circle, scallop, 1/16" (to make holes in the scallops), and the new scallop edge punch at the bottom.

Is that all? Nope. There's also a 1/4" circle punch used to accent each image with a Tangerine Tango or Baja Breeze dot.

The strip of card stock behind the scallops is Pink Pirouette. It looks great with Tangerine Tango and Baja Breeze! Now you need to try some combinations....

NEW: Window Dressing film strip card...

This Baja Breeze card is soothing, and simple to make.

Using a spiral punch on both sides of a strip of black card stock, punch to make it resemble film strip (remember hearing the tick-tick-tick when a film was over in school? Now I'm showing my age! *LOL*).

I used the new Level 3 hostess set Window Dressing along with the "Thank You" from Wow Flowers. All of the stamps were inked with Pacific Point ink and blended a bit with a blender pen. I used a 1 1/4" square punch for the images and a 1 3/8" square punch for the Baja Breeze layers.

A knot of white grosgrain on the left completes the card.

Tangerine Tango latte...

This is such a wonderfully warm card - Tangerine Tango with Chocolate Chip. So it was only fitting that the "Love you a latter" sentiment and cup of coffee from Pun Fun go with it.

There's a strip of Bella Rose paper in the middle of the card with some 5/8" wide chocolate chip grosgrain tied in a knot around it.

I added faux stitching with a white Uni-bal gel pen and sponged some Tangerine Tango around the Very Vanilla layer before layering it on some Chocolate Chip card stock.

Pun Fun Bella Rose...

This is my swap for convention. I watercolored the skunk from Pun Fun and gave her a rhinestone brad in the middle of the flower.

Bella Rose paper is easy to use with the attractive patterns on both sides. And the pink gingham looks great with the Pink Pirouette card.

Layers behind the skunk include Riding Hood Red and Chocolate Chip.

NEW: Pacific Point Wow Flower...

New In Colors Baja Breeze and Pacific Point look great together.

Here, Whisper White is used to add light to the card. The middle is pierced and the "birthday wishes" was punched out with the Word Window punch.

Louise layered the circle image three times with our circle punches and the scallop punch, and added an ice rhinestone brad in the middle.

Pun Fun & Wow Flowers...

This Pun Fun hippo was hard to focus on in the photo because it's watercolored. It's very soft and cute up close.

Wow Flowers makes a great background (here is one stamp in Pacific Point ink on the same colored card stock. And I love how Pacific Point goes so well with Tangerine Tango. It's bright and cheerful. The circle features the "Happy Birthday" stamp layered twice and stuck on with dimensionals.

I used white grosgrain ribbon across the middle of the card. It's a must-have item for anybody who likes to dye their ribbon to match their ink colors. A little reinker and water will thoroughly saturate the ribbon and noone will ever guess it was just basic white!

Pun Fun & Scallop Edge Punch...

This cut-out whale from the Pun Fun stamp set is swimming on waves of Whisper White, Baja Breeze and Pacific Point made by the new scallop edge punch.

Another punch - Word Window - was used for the "Get whale soon" sentiment.

Floats my boat.

NEW: Sock Monkey & balloon...

This Sock Monkey couldn't be happier flying a Kiwi Kiss polka-dotted balloon!

The card itself is Tangerine Tango, with some Bella Rose designer paper at the bottom. Louise used white grosgrain ribbon to tie the balloon to the sock monkey.
Crazy grin, eh?

NEW: Serene Spring bunny...

This bunny is the very picture of serene. He's part of a 4-piece hostess set called Serene Spring that will be released Aug. 11.

In addition to the flowerpot stamp pictured on the card below this post, there are two word stamps in the set - "A friend is what the heart needs all the time. - Henry Van Dyke" and "A kind word is like a spring day."

It's a lovely set Louise made even lovelier with some neutral buttons, Bella Rose paper (love the plaid!) and a Pink Pirouette card (new In Color).

Oh, and watercolor crayons and an aqua painter were used to color the image.

Hope you like it!

NEW: Serene Spring flowers...

Louise used Bella Rose designer paper and the new Level 2 hostess set Serene Spring on this card. It's a great set for anyone who likes to color. The card itself is Kiwi Kiss, and the red layer is also a new In Color, Riding Hood Red.

Save money for your first Fall-Winter order so you can earn this set. All you need is $300+!!!

Flower Power kit...

This is a new Simply Sent kit Stampin' Up! is coming out with in the Fall-Winter Idea Book & Catalog Aug. 11.

In addition to two 8 1/2" x 11" textured Rose Red, Old Olive and Perfect Plum sheets of card stock, you get 2 sheets of double-sided paper, one sheet of self-adhesive die cuts, grosgrain ribbons (Whisper White and More Mustard), buttons (Old Olive and More Mustard) and More Mustard brads.

Louise made this card, using the Happy Birthday circle and "birthday wishes" stamps from Wow Flowers.

These kits are terrific for anyone needing cards in a hurry!

NEW: Deer Friends sweet treat...

Louise and I spent a few hours at the studio playing with our new order of hostess sets and sneak peek items from the Fall-Winter Idea Book & Catalog.

I grabbed a handful of cards for our blog, and will be posting more as the days go by.

I really like this card, because the gingerbread men almost look like cookies on a plaid tablecloth. Yum! There's a strip of 5/8" chocolate grosgrain on the plaid, which is layered on a Pink Pirouette (new In Color) card.

I love any card that uses a few punches.... I hope Stampin' Up! has lots more in the upcoming catalog because those babies will be MINE!

NEW: Deer Friends...

One of the eight stamps in this new hostess Level 2 set called Deer Friends is a simple Christmas tree with the words "o christmas tree" repeated three times around the image.

I stamped the tree and words once in Kiwi Kiss, and a second time in Riding Hood Red. I used the 1" circle punch to punch out the Kiwi Kiss tree over the top of the red tree then layered the whole thing on a 1 3/8" Kiwi Kiss circle.

The yummy plaid paper is from the Bella Rose paper pack and the love note is finished off with two silver brads. Sweet, huh?

NEW: Deer Friends...

This Riding Hood Red card uses Kiwi Kiss and some of the new Bella Rose designer paper behind the reindeer (with the words "deer friend" repeating in a circle 5 times around its head).

The scallop behind the deer mirrors the scallop made with the scallop edge punch (NEW!) in Kiwi Kiss at the bottom of the card. And the 1/16" holes punched in the round scallop mirror the big Pink Pirouette polka dots.

It's feeling like Christmas already!

NEW: Window Dressing hostess set...

This adorable Kiwi Kiss love note sports a strip of Bella Rose designer paper and a knot of black gingham.

The flowers, bird and saying are from the new Level 3 hostess set coming up called Window Dressing.

The flowers were colored in using an aqua painter and new In Color pads - Riding Hood Red, Kiwi Kiss and Pink Pirouette.

Can't wait to show my customers all the new samples I've stamped recently!

NEW: Deer Friends & Kiwi Kiss...

Kiwi Kiss is a new In Color that looks like a Granny Smith apple to me... or a lighter Old Olive shade. This card pairs Kiwi Kiss card stock and ink with Riding Hood red. The words around the gift say "a little something" three times.

The polka dotted paper is from Bella Rose.

NEW: Deer Friends & Scallop Edge Punch...

Louise came up with this googly-eyed deer. Sweet, isn't he?

The card is Riding Hood red with wide Old Olive grosgrain behind the Kiwi Kiss scallop.

The polka-dotted paper is from Bella Rose and is punched using the new scallop edge punch (does 1 15/16" at a time), as is the bottom front of the card.

NEW: Deer Friends & Heard from the Heart...

This vibrant blue is Pacific Point, one of the incoming In Colors. I love it!

Here, it's paired with brushed silver and black card stocks. The big star was punched out and attched with dimensionals. The bottom piece of silver was pierced and is stamped with the Christmas saying from Heard from the Heart in black ink.

NEW: Deer Friends & Window Dressing...

The Fall-Winter Idea Book & Catalog is only a couple of weeks away now. Fortunately as a demonstrator, I got to order one Level 2 hostess set (Deer Friends, a set of 8) and one Level 3 set (Window Dressing, a set of 10 that has the pair of snowmen in it).

I've also been playing with the new In Colors - here, Riding Hood Red card stock and ink, along with Pink Pirouette card stock. The polka-dot paper is from the new designer series called Bella Rose.

Text & Texture...

This is one of the cards my customers can make when they come to my Stamp & Scrap today at noon. Though it's a 10-hour event set up for primarily scrapbookers, I encourage my customers and friends to bring projects they want to work on. They have full use of my punches and other tools, as well as access to freebies such as retired ribbons, tags, boxes and more!

This Groovy Guava card has some Groovy Guava Prints paper on the left. The "life is good" sentiment is stamped in Groovy Guava ink and layered on Close to Cocoa. I used the horizontal slot punch (it does go through 2 layers) to hold the Kraft taffeta ribbon.

I can't resist these Zoofari birds. I stamped them in Close to Cocoa ink and used an aqua painter to color them in slightly.

I hope your life is good!

Always & Wonderful Words...

Always has been a favorite stamp set of mine since it was first released. Here, the bird is stamped in Chocolate Chip ink on Very Vanilla cardstock and layered in Purely Pomegranate with a PP photo corner. I sponged River Rock around the vanilla layer too.

I'm on a mission to use as much In Color stuff as I can, including the designer paper that has In Colors in it. The patterned River Rock paper is from the Ginger Blossom pack and is layered on a River Rock card.

I tied a chocolate satin knot at the top and stamped "friendship" from the Wonderful Words stamp set in Purely Pomegranate at the bottom.

Remember to order your In Color items, such as double-stitched ribbon, card stock and coordinating designer papers, before Aug. 10 when it's no longer available. You'll find some items discounted 25% starting tomorrow!

Close as a Memory...

I love the soft look of the flowers in Close as a Memory. Here, I stamped the flowers in Classic Taken with Teal ink in the middle, stamping a second time off to the right, then a third time to the left without reinking the stamp. It's layered on Taken with Teal card stock and adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals.

The card is Soft Sky (retiring Aug. 10, so order what you want in the color NOW - double-stitched ribbon, ink pad or card stock) with a layer of Taken with Teal card stock on top. Two knots of Soft Sky double-stitched ribbon complete the elegant look.

The "Just a Note" is from the Elegant Cheer set.

This layout will work for many stamp sets, so I hope you try it!

Faux Metal True Friend...

There are a couple of ways to get a metal look without using metal.

You can use a VersaMark pad and silver embossing powder to heat emboss on brushed silver card stock as with the "Thank U" below, or you can build up layers of silver (or other metal color) on white card stock and push in your stamp for a faux metal look (I call this "pooling").

The ribbon is from a Ribbon Originals pack, and the black brads are from a Vintage brads pack. The card itself is Bashful Blue. Hope you like it!

Life's a Breeze...

This is a swap for my club tomorrow. The boat and saying come from the stamp set Life's a Breeze. It's colored with Old Olive, Not Quite Navy and Pumpkin Pie markers and layered on Not Quite Navy card stock.

The designer paper is from the Spring Break package. I pierced a few holes and inserted Vintage Brads that are off-silver looking.

This card reminds me of my family's day at the beach yesterday - lots of sand, water and sailboats. Ahhh....

Warm Words...

I love the simplicity of strips of card stock for a background. I used Chocolate Chip designer paper at the bottom, with a strip of Whisper White pierced down the middle, covering a seam left by the Rose Red card stock, which is on the Regal Rose card.

The "happiness" comes from Warm Words, and the flowers are from the Pretties Kit, along with the big half-pearl using mini glue dots and dimensionals.

Finally, a knot of wide chocolate grosgrain finishes the look. It's just like in Stampin' Success only uses product available right now!

Wonderful You...

This card idea came directly from our Stampin' Up! magazine for demonstrators, Stampin' Success. I did change it up a bit - I used the Word Window punch for the greeting, and used the Faux Suede technique for the strip of Chocolate Chip card stock that is wheeled with Stems & Silhouettes.

Also, instead of using a technique called Ghosting, I changed it to a simple VersaMark resist card since I'm doing it for a club Saturday morning. I just stamped the leaves and outline in VersaMark on glossy card stock and brayered over it with Classic Old Olive ink.

The Faux Suede technique uses the card stock placed between your thumb and a bone folder. You pull the strip down between the two, turning it to cover the entire strip... soon enough the card stock will split into two pieces. When you pull them apart, you have what looks and feels like suede inside. Cool, huh?

The card is finished with some Chocolate taffeta ribbon and piercing at the bottom.

Western Sky stationery box...

I'm holding a class for this terrific stationery box this week. It makes an awesome gift since it has 4 cards with envelopes, 3 love notes with envelopes, 3 decorated tags, an address book, a place to hold your postage stamps AND a pen holder. Sheesh. It does everything but address your cards!
Try to make one! They're fun....

Bag in a box...

My downline, Brandy, brought this as a make & take to our demo meeting Saturday. The instructions are on http://inkingaddict.blogspot.com/.

I love that it's so easy! This would make a great favor for any occasion, depending on the patterned paper you chose. This project uses Cutie Pie designer paper, with a Rose Red scallop, Certainly Celery 1 3/8" circle, and a 1 1/4" circle with "Happy Birthday" on some patterned paper from the same Cutie Pie pack and stamped in Rose Red ink.

Once you get the paper around the bottom, you squeeze the top together, punch 2 holes and thread your ribbon through, making a bow. This is Bashful Blue ribbon with some linen thread holding the scalloped medallion on.

Also, the scalloped edge at the bottom was made using the new 1 15/16" scallop edge punch that will debut in the Fall-Winter Idea Book & Catalog. You can start making a Wish List now!

NEW! Dream du Jour...

This is another new set that will be in the Fall-Winter Idea Book & Catalog. I used the Poppin' Pastel technique for the background, stamping the Floral background stamp in VersaMark ink and using sponge daubers to spread Always Artichoke and Bravo Burgundy pastels on top in a random pattern.

The butterfly is stamped in Always Artichoke and colored with a little Brilliant Blue and Bravo Burgundy pastels. It's stuck on with a mini glue dot.

There's a strip of Always Artichoke on the bottom, layered with half a piece of Bravo Burgundy (faux suede technique). You rub the card stock between a bone folder and your thumb till the card stock separates. When you peel the layers apart, it feels and looks like suede!

The Bravo Burgundy flower is punched from the Boho Blossom punch with a So Saffron brad in it. The "We Grow Great By Dreams" is stuck over the wide burgundy grosgrain ribbon with dimensionals. It's really quite pretty in person - and the butterfly wings stick up for a cool 3d look.

NEW! Sock Monkey...

This is a Sneak Peek at a new die-cut stamp set coming out in Stampin' Up!'s Fall-Winter 2008 Idea Book & Catalog Aug. 11 called Sock Monkey.

This card uses three of the set's 10 stamps - the banana, sock monkey and phrase. The card stock colors are: Chocolate Chip, Cameo Coral and Apricot Appeal. I colored in the monkey and banana with markers.
The Apricot Appeal buttons are stuck on with mini glue dots. The brown "thread" is simply Chocolate Chip card stock cut very thin.
I stamped, colored and cut out a banana and stuck it on with dimensionals.
Hope you like it!

Outlined for Fun...

I've seen several versions of this style of card on the internet. Mine is 5 1/2" square - to make use of Stampin' Up!'s 5 1/2" square white envelopes.

I used the Wild Wasabi sheets from my Print Pack (Level 1 hostess item) and punched out 1 1/4" squares, then adhered them to 1 3/8" squares punched out of Basic Black card stock.

The "warm wishes" is from Outlined for Fun, which is on the Dormant List. I stamped it in Wild Wasabi ink and colored it in with an aqua painter and a pool of ink in the pad's lid. Then I pierced a hole through the letter "i" and inserted a green rhinestone brad.

The sentiment is also pierced in two cornered and adhered over the double-stitched Wild Wasabi ribbon with Stampin' Dimensionals.

This is a great way to use up some of those designer paper scraps!

Big Birthday Candle...

This card was the first chance I've had to use Big Birthday Candle. The main attraction of this stamp set to me is stamping the candle outlines on patterned paper, and it has a couple of word stamps in it. This card was inspired by one found on Dannie's Designs blog.

The polka-dot paper comes from the Cutie Pie designer pack. I used a strip of Purely Pomegranate at the bottom, made into a scalloped edge with Stampin' Up!'s 3/16" corner rounder punch. (SU! is coming out with a scalloped edge punch in the Fall-Winter Catalog that'll punch 1 15/16" at a time!)

The ribbon is blue taffeta, and the yellow is So Saffron. The candle flames are stamped in Basic Gray on Pumpkin Pie card stock. The sentiment comes from the stamp set and is stamped in Purely Pomegranate.

Pretty Petals...

I used my Pretty Petals background stamp for the first time tonight. Here, I stamped the image in white craft ink, then using a sponge dauber in pastels, went over the entire image in More Mustard, Old Olive, Bravo Burgundy and white.

The strip of More Mustard card stock at the bottom is stamped with Elegant Eggplant and the Twill background stamp, with a strip of Bravo Burgundy on that (both layers are distressed with the cutter tool kit) and a strip of sticky strip holding down a piece of Theater Ribbon Originals.

For the scalloped medallion, I dry embossed the flower from the Priceless classy brass template and pierced holes in the 1 3/8" circle following the template. It's attached to the page with Stampin' Dimensionals.

The photo is matted in Old Olive card stock and the top right corner uses the slit punch to hold in that corner.

Hope you like it!

Mini pocket book...

I found a tutorial for this cute mini pocket book on Michelle's blog - http://michellesrubberroom.blogspot.com. One thing she does is use a hobby blade and ruler. I prefer using my paper cutter for the scoring and cutting and measuring. It went a lot quicker!

I used an 8 1/2" x 11" piece of Spring Fling designer paper (cut down from 12" x 12"). That one piece is the entire insides with pockets!

My cover is a 6" x 2 7/8" piece of textured Sage Shadow card stock, with a piece of white grosgrain ribbon knotted through the middle of the book.

Happy Thoughts is my go-to stamp set of choice for a project like this. I punched out a 3/4" circle from a scrap of the paper I was using, layered it on the Whisper White 1 1/4" circle with "happy thoughts" stamped on it in Classic Old Olive ink, and layered it on a Sage Shadow scallop with 1/16" holes punched thru each scallop. The entire medallion is attached to the front of the mini book with dimensionals.

Fabulous-ness for your walls, etc.

Bear window card...

This card uses a textured 6" x 6" piece of Wild Wasabi card stock, as well as the coordinating double-stitched ribbon and ink pad.
A 1 3/8" square hole was punched through the front of the card to make a window for the bear, which was stamped in Close to Cocoa on white card stock.
I cut a frame out of some Creamy Caramel card stock on my paper cutter, and adhered it to the window with dimensionals. Then inked a chipboard heart in Ruby Red and stuck it on with dimensionals.
To finish the card, I tied a ribbon knot through the window to the outside of the card, and stamped "Wild About You" (from the stamp set with the same name) in Close to Cocoa on the frame.

Fun camping on film...

Making a filmstrip card is fun and easy. All it takes is a spiral punch and stamps!

The "{Fun" comes from the Level 1 hostess set Make it Count. I think this would be a great invitation to a Fourth of July campout!

The lantern is stamped in Always Artichoke, the sleeping bag in Not Quite Navy, and the boot in Really Rust. All of the images are stamped on the same size Whisper White card stock.

A filmstrip card is great for kids cards. You can use animals, bugs, toys or whatever. It always looks great!

Camper happy birthday...

I really like the combination of Soft Sky and River Rock.

Here, the camper from Happy Camper was stamped in Soft Sky on Very Vanilla card stock AND a piece of regular paper (bond - thin, what most people keep in their printers).

The camper was cut out of the thin paper to make a mask. What that means if you put a little 2-way glue pen on the back of the cut-out image, let it dry, then stick it over the top of your stamped image on the vanilla card stock. Now when you stamp the trees in River Rock ink, you can go right over the camper. When you're done stamping, peel off the mask and the camper looks like it has trees behind it! It's a terrific advanced stamping technique everyone should learn/know.

I also recommend using a Post-It Note for your mask, though I didn't have one big enough for this camper. Then you don't need to add the 2-way glue.

The "happy birthday" comes from the cute 4-piece stamp set Bitty Birthday.
